Another of my extremely unhealthy addictions is shoes. This addiction is unhealthy because it hurts my bank account. I love skate shoes the most and have 13 pairs of Vans classic slip-ons alone. All together I have 31 pairs of shoes. The number was larger but sadly I had to let some go...Please excuse me while I grab a tissue and mourn those lost soles...
And now that I have composed myself again I will continue with my story. My love of skate shoes began in high school when it was cool to wear them even if you didn't own a skateboard. I was one of those kids. No skateboard but tons of killer kicks. My addiction grew when I got my first job and with that comes disposable income. Cha ching! I was at the mall every weekend scoping out the shoes and hardly noticing the boys. That is a serious addiction.
Over the years I have refined my collection and have become loyal to certain brands. You will never catch me in Payless or the shoe department at any large chain superstore unless I need something gawdy, cheap and awful for a costume party.
Spring and summer are just around the corner and I only have 7 pairs of flip flops. I must be off to the mall soon to snag this year's coolest sandals...
